Dinesh Kapur, MD
A native of India, Dr. Kapur graduated with high honors from the Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Safdarjung Hospital in New Delhi and at G.T.B. Hospital in Delhi. He then did an internal medicine residency at the Medical Center of Central Massachusetts, followed by a Hematology/ Oncology fellowship at the University of Connecticut.
Dr. Kapur is the Medical Director of Oncology at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut where he is also an attending physician in Hematology, Oncology, and Internal Medicine. In addition, he is the Director of Clinical Research at ECHO Associates.
Dr. Kapur was an attending physician in Hematology/Oncology at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut, also acting as co-director of Anticoagulation Services. Dr. Kapur is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
As his special interest, Dr. Kapur is actively involved in clinical research in colorectal cancer, supportive care, and technology integration in cancer research. He has been instrumental in implementing many new and promising clinical trials at ECHO.
Dr. Kapur is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, and Hematology.
